Learning Objectives:

Develop an understanding of how historical, social and political events have, and will continue to, shape LGBTQIA2S+ experiences.
- Recognize the impact of LGBTQIA2S+ discriminatory experiences, traumatic events, and mental health disparities on individuals’ mental and physical well being.

Identify opportunities to promote the psychological safety and wellbeing of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, in addition to coping strategies to reduce symptoms of traumatic and minority stress felt in one’s self.
- Practice various forms of allyship, including promoting positive LGBTQIA2S+ representation, building inclusive spaces, and taking steps to avoid performative allyship.
